The subject of gender touches on medicine, law, education, sport, language and politics. That is why each project has its own defined subject and its own format: one is a reference work, another a file or a news blog. Signposts and reference

Genderhub.nl is the signpost of the network, with all sites by category. Gender123.nl answers frequently asked questions in plain language and is intended for parents, teachers and teenagers. Transgenderidentiteit.nl is a reference work on transgender identity, and Genderexperts.nl contains profiles of clinicians, researchers and organisations in the gender field. Anyone wondering whether he or she is transgender can anonymously complete a questionnaire of fifty questions on Transgendercheck.nl.

Care and science

Dutchprotocol.nl documents the treatment protocol for young people that was developed in Amsterdam: its origins, the studies and the international criticism. Genderrisico.nl collects figures from professional journals on side effects, complications and outcomes of treatments. Wpath.nl is a critical file on the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and its treatment guidelines, the Standards of Care. Genderellende.nl describes medical and social harm.

Society and public debate

Gendergekte.nl is a news blog about incidents and policy in the Dutch and European gender debate. Genderballast.nl maps what LGBTIQA+ policy costs in language, time and money. Alfabetbende.nl takes a critical look at the LGBTQ+ movement, and Gendersekte.nl applies insights from scientific research into cults to the dynamics within the gender movement. Genderongemak.nl is aimed at people who feel uncomfortable with the subject, with polls, personal stories and conversation tips.

What the projects have in common

The sites differ in tone and format, but they deal with the same questions: what is known about the effect and the risks of medical treatments, how do rights based on gender identity relate to rights based on sex, and how is the subject talked about in media, education and politics. A reference work answers such questions differently from a news blog. The former gives overview and background, the latter follows what is happening this week.
